Event Information

  • Postponed to Sunday 2nd of February 2020

The Famous Grouse Bays Cycle Challenge will see the peloton leave the Famous Grouse Hotel at 9:00am on Sunday 2nd February 2020. The peloton will be led out of Lincoln in a controlled start for 1km, until Liffey Drive, where the lead vehicle will pull away and the race is on.

Making your way 6km to Tai Tapu, you will then head toward Motukarara and head towards Gebbies Pass - 20km into th2e ride is the first climb of 142m. This will be where we decide the King and Queen of the Pass. The first male and female will be the King and Queen. Just to make you all feel better, after the climb you drop the 142m back down into Teddington.

From Teddington you’ll turn towards Governors Bay and experience another 3 or 4 climbs on your journey to Corsair Bay where you will turn by the large tree at Corsair Bay Domain for the homeward journey. Yes; those wee bumps again from the descent of the previous 39km.

You will climb out of Governors Bay, back to Teddington and the 142m climb over Gebbies Pass, through Motukarara, Tai Tapu and back to Lincoln. As you come to Lincoln you’ll turn left on to Liffey Drive and sprint 300m to the Finish at Liffey Park.
