Bays Cycle Challenge

Sunday 31st January 2021

The Start

  • Race Pack Pick Up - 6:30 to 7:30am
  • Race Brief - 7:50am
  • Race Start - 8:00am

You will assemble on McCormacks Bay Road at McCormacks Bay Reserve for Race Briefing at 7:50am.

The Race will start at 8:00am. Please seed yourself for the race Start, fastest at the front, slower riders at the back.

While the race is staged on public roads, these roads are all still open to traffic and normal road rules apply to both vehicles and cyclists. There is a Traffic Management Plan in place with various restrictions throughout the course. We again stress that the roads ARE OPEN and with these restrictions, some vehicles may not stop when directed too. Therefore cyclists have to be aware that normal road rules apply and be prepared to stop, even when a Stop/Go control is in place.

A small section of road 300metres is closed before the finish outside The Famous Grouse Hotel and the finish is 100 metres after the bend by the church.

You must obey all instructions from marshals on the course. Marshals are on the course to direct you.

YOU MUST ABIDE BY THE ROAD RULES AT ALL TIMES – DO NOT CROSS THE CENTER LINE AT ANY STAGE OF THE EVENT.

 Neutralized Start

The first 1km will be a naturalized start as you come out of McCormacks Bay Road on to Main Road and will be lead by the Lead vehicle to the traffic lights at New World redwood.  After the traffic lights the Lead Vehicle will pull away.
